Simon’s Big Sleep Out returns to help mark Simon On The Streets’ 25th anniversary.

On 9th October 2025 — the day before World Homeless Day — we’ll be sleeping out in the elements at Leeds Civic Hall to raise awareness and vital funds for those experiencing homelessness in Leeds and Bradford.

What is Simon’s Big Sleep Out?

Simon’s Big Sleep Out aims to give those who take part some idea of what people sleeping rough deal with on a daily  basis. We know this event can’t ever replicate the true conditions of homelessness. But it can shine a light on the trauma and challenges homelessness brings and bring our community together with a common goal.

We’ve been hosting this event for many years, and we’ve seen the profound impact it can have on participants and what a meaningful experience it is - and as this year marks our 25th year as a charity, we’re aiming to make this our biggest one yet. Sadly, over two decades later, we’re still needed as homelessness increases in our region.

But there is hope. With the strength of our community and thanks to you, we can continue to deliver change for some of the most vulnerable in our community.

“The experience was very humbling and emotional, but the camaraderie and togetherness on the night was very special”

There are so many reasons.

In Yorkshire alone, we’ve seen a 59% rise in the number of people with nowhere to call home, and we need your help.

Homelessness is a complex issue that affects individuals and families across our communities. It does not discriminate. Your support can make a significant difference. By getting involved in Simon’s Big Sleep Out, you’ll be raising the funds we need to provide practical and emotional support to those who are facing or at risk of homelessness.
