What is Simon’s Big Sleep Out?

Simon’s Big Sleep Out aims to give those who take part some idea of what people sleeping rough deal with on a daily  basis. We know this event can’t ever replicate the true conditions of homelessness. But it can shine a light on the trauma and challenges homelessness brings and bring our community together with a common goal.

We’ve been hosting this event for many years, and we’ve seen the profound impact it can have on participants and what a meaningful experience it is - it is for this reason that this year’s theme is HOPE, which underpins our mission statement: providing hope to those without a voice.

“The experience was very humbling and emotional, but the camaraderie and togetherness on the night was very special”

Why should I take part?

There are so many reasons.

In Yorkshire alone, we’ve seen a 59% rise in the number of people with nowhere to call home, and we need your help.

Homelessness is a complex issue that affects individuals and families across our communities. It does not discriminate. Your support can make a significant difference. By getting involved in Simon’s Big Sleep Out, you’ll be raising the funds we need to provide practical and emotional support to those who are facing or at risk of homelessness.
